GPS map of the route from Alvdal to Høvringen. Must have Garmin and Østerdalen and Jotunheimen map

This is a hike that I can go in early July. My trip on the Hardangervidda I have to wait until late jui or beginning of August. There is a lot of snow in the mountains this year.

This trip from Alvdal to Høvringen is a fit ride routes I have not gone before. Have heard a lot about the area around Breisjøseter and it should be fine there. Bjørnhollia I also would like to visit. This is a trip of 101km. Just fit. If I take a taxi or walk from Alvdal to Dølbekkseter the time will tell. I take enough Taxi to Egga where the path leads up the mountain. To Egga is it 4,5 km of asphalt that I do not want to go.

When I come to Høvringen I expect that there are buses to Otta. I also have opportunities to go to Grimsdalshytta and on to Hjerkinn.

My wife has long time misgivings that I go alone in the mountains in case I get hurt. So now I've bought myself DELORME inreach. Really is a satellite phone that can send and receive SMS messages and Email messages. It also has an SOS button where a message goes directly to the appropriate emergency services. It can also communicate with your smartphone.

Have tested a bit on it and it looks and feel OK.

Route description from Alvdal to Dølbekksætran

Car / Bus Alvdal and further access is from the mountain road between Dølbekksætran and Kvislåsætra. There are three marked trails to choose from. Most shortest (1 h up a little faster back) is along the path that starts at 1180 m elevation just south of Fjøshøa. The path hopping off just above Kvislåsætra is a bit longer, while route starting ii 1020 m elevation just east of Dølbekkhøa takes approx. 2 hours journey from Dølbekksætran have very poor standard. Here there is a clear advantage with high ground clearance and low speed. To the path by Dølbekkhøa is only 2.5 km on this bad road while it is 6 km to the trail at Fjøshøa and barely 7 to Kvislåsætra.

Want a longer trip here you can start your trip from the farm Egga Alvdal. From here you go up between Høgkletten and Vola towards Aumdalen and from here follow the road past Dølbekksætran and take the path towards Korsberg cabin.
