Mountain Tour 2002
From Spiterstulen 27 August.
Had me completely new tent, sleeping bag, lie surface and food.
Backpack weighed about 15 kg. So I decided to start in a quiet pace.
Day 1:
Started from Spiterstulen, and went up Visdalen and against Urdadalen.
Over Urdadalsbåndet and down to Hellertjøna where I set up the tent.
It was pretty rocky up Urdadalen, but good terrain.
It was good weather, and the temperature was OK.
The mountain had also begun to get the fall colors.
Day 2:
Next day I went down to the Storådalen and on to Gjendebu.
It was nice view from Heller waterfall of Storådalen.
Was one hour on Gjendebu, acted a little and started the trip back to Helletjøna and Langvatn.
I went along Langvatn to trail distinction against Olavsbu. Went up as Høgvaglura and to Leirvatnet
Here I put up the tent for the night.
I could see Leirvassbu on the other side of the water. It was still nice weather.
Day 3:
I went over the river Visa and down Visdalen to Spiterstulen.
There had been an excellent first tent tour in the mountains. Great weather and temperature.
Was actually in better shape now than when I started.
Got me a room on Spiterstulen. And in the evening, I had a better dinner.
Day 4:
The fourth day I started early in the morning.
I went up the trail to Galdhøpiggen and took to the right against Stygg Breen ( ugly glacier).
Had to go up against the glacier to get over the river Breagrovi.
It went well and followed since the trail towards Galdhøpiggen Summer Ski Center and Juvvasshytta.
Did the same way back to Spiterstulen.
Had used about. 5.5 hours for the entire trip. It was an easy sack with packed lunch and drink.
It seemed I was fine.
